…it has been around as long as there have been corporations.

But only recently has it dominated the headlines in such a way and affected the lives of SO many. ,Wall St. meltdown, banks going bankrupt, gas pumps going empty…these are uncertain and stressful times to say the least.

It makes me wonder, what happened to the American Dream? Does it still exist? We used to be the symbol of freedom and prosperity to the rest of the world. How do they view us now? Do people in this country even dream any more? Is it still possible to get ahead and live the life of your dreams? I say YES!

I believe there has NEVER been a better time to re-access your life and decide if you are living it the way you truly want to live it.

“All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me…You may not realize it when it happens, but a good kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” - Walt Disney

Do you think the corporate executives with the multi-million dollar golden parachutes are worried about their own financial situation and the problems they left in their wake? I doubt they are losing much sleep over it. Why should they be the only ones who aren’t impacted by their ignorant decisions?

So, I believe it is time for Americans to re-awaken the American Dream sleeping inside them! Are you living the life that you dreamed of? Are you in control of your life or is someone else controling it?

There is another small percentage of the population that is keeping the American Dream alive and well. They made a decision that they are not going to live their lives by the whims of others and have decided to live life on their own terms. Many of them have been entrepreneurs at heart their whole lives, while others have run the and decided it wasn’t for them (or someone else decided for them). In either case, they are free! Free to live their lives as they choose. Isn’t that the way it should be?

Here is one of my favorite quotes:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

Now is the time if you have been sitting on the fence trying to decide if you want to follow the “safe” route and keep your job (if you still have one), or as Mark T. put it: “Explore, Dream, Discover!”

Here is a great video from one of the most brilliant business minds alive today, Robert Kiyosaki (New York Times Best Selling author of, among others, ““), as he describes what he believes is the perfect business model that anyone could follow to get rich: Network Marketing! That’s right network marketing…Who would have ever thought?

I believe if you align yourself with great ideas/concepts and great people; great things will happen! The perfect storm of all of these elements has come together and it is called Zrii!

The thing that really gets me about this whole thing is the fact that it’s yet another circumstance where politicians are placing the blame on everyone else, and not taking any personal accountability.

The REAL issue began when the FED was given all the power when Woodrow Wilson was president. It’s shocking that the Fed’s book are private, not EVER audited, and they can print money on demand.
Just do some research and follow Ron Paul, he’s one of few politicians who ACTUALLY gets it.

Great post by the way and forgive me for ranting :)

I love the Walt Disney and Mark Twain quotes… And Yes, the American Dream does still exist. As w/ what Walt Disney said, we may have to be creative about it and “get our teeth kicked in” a few times… but it still exists! Find the people who are still doing well and model them (and mold their plans to fit you and your plans, personality, skills etc.).
Great Post!

I’ll second Kate and Set. While RP was a little to weird for me in some areas, he has far more financial sense than most Pols. Yes, the American dreams is still alive, despite government attempts to squash it.

And MLM is a great way to go if you have a solid company and if the people you talk to are actually willing to listen, learn, do, and teach. Some are, most aren’t, but most won’t be building a business of any sort in any case.
